Come on an adventure with me as I rediscover the joys of growing up! This blog includes my diary entries, stories and pictures from my adolescent and young adult years. The love, the pain, the drama....the boys!! Things were usually pretty awful for me (from a self-esteem perspective), but I learned a great deal and grew a thick skin.
Each week I'll post goodies, beginning in the summer of 1996, when I was at the ripe teenage age of 14. This is going to be some funny stuff, and at the very least pure entertainment value. Whatever you do, do not feel sorry for me. I changed radically when I left my hometown of Lubbock, TX. I found some courage and value in myself once and for all.
Oh and all names have been changed, just out of common courtesy for the real people. But if you stumble upon this and you knew me back when, you might have fun guessing at who the real names are...they could even be you. I'll apologize in advance if you don't like the fake name I gave you, but hey, it's my retelling of my life. :)

I like it already! I have something for you to post if I can only find it. All I'm going to say is 7th grade love letter. It made for a very popular reading at a coffee shop poetry night. It didn't rhyme or anything, but it just fit the mood. Until then... :) -Monica S.
ReplyDeleteHey stranger! I am late to notice this comment, but I would really LOVE for others to send in things. I can make a separate category to post others' found letters and notes. This has been an awesome experience for me so far and I am enjoying reflecting on my adolescence....sure does help me appreciate how far I've come!
